Hair Types

Like skin everybody has different hair type. Hair type need different type of hair care pattern. The basic hair type of a person is determined by his or her hereditary predisposition. This means that one person might have dry, thick curls, while another may have fine, slightly oily hair. Hairs are normal where they have a balance of moister and dryness in the hair. They appear different in the changed weather and climatic conditions. The type of hair dictates the kind of care and style it needs. The testure of hair is genetically determined. Each individual hair may be coarse, fine, thick or curly. A good haircut can control unruly curl or make fine, straight hair look thicker. The fine hairs are small in diameter then medium or coarse hair. It is generally limper, but shinier than coarse hair. The condition of hair and thus its attractiveness is decidedly dependant upon outside factors and, with the proper care and treatment, can be heavily influenced. The first postnatal hair is vellus hair, which is fine, soft, usually unpigmented, and seldom more than two cm long. There are mainly 3 types of hair, they are:

DRY HAIR

The hair has a moisture content of approximately 10% tends to be limp, looks flat and lacks volume .This kind of hair are difficult to manage and have lot of problems associated with it. It does not hold a style .You will know all about the way in which greasy hair clings to itself and to your scalp, how the excess oil weighs the hair down and spoils your style, and how dust sticks to the grease so that your hair seems to be dirty only a day or two after it has been washed. If your hair is difficult to manage and has the 'flyaway' look, you probably have dry hair. The oil glands are not secreting enough natural oil, or the hair has suffered damage from chemical treatments and
exposure to the elements. Dry hair looks dull and acquires split ends easily.

OILY HAIR

Here the oil gland is overactive resulting in over secretion of oil and trhus the oil is oily, greasy, or stringy .It is also accompanied with oily skin. Oliy hair can be made drier by getting it it permed or tinted . If you have an oily skin, the chances that your hair is oily too. The sebaceous glands are over-active and are producing excessive oil. Your hair looks good when you shampoo, but becomes limp soon. Oily hair is recognized easily as it looks more oily and greasy, the scalp and hair gets too oily and even after shampooing it attracts more dirt.

NORMAL HAIR

This is the most ideal hair because it is neither too oily nor too dry or greasy. Normal hair is shining and can hold style really well. It is well balanced ,does not dry out and is not permed or color-treated . Thus normal hair looks been permed or color-treated
