Common warts usually occur on your hands, fingers or near your fingernails. Other types of HPV tend to cause warts in other places, such as on the soles of the feet, the genitals or the face and legs. But you may find common warts bothersome or embarrassing, and you may want treatment to remove them.Treatment helps prevent common warts from spreading to other parts of your body or to other people. But common warts may recur after treatment, and they may be a persistent problem.

Warts on the feet tend to be painful be cause they gett rodden on. So these should be removed by your doctor: the small warts can be removed straight away, but the large ones would need to be softened with some chemicals like salicylicacid before they are removed. The process of removal is slightly painful but the doctor is likely to give you anesthesia locally.

What are the causes of Warts ?

Causes of warts are as follows:

1) Warts are caused by a virus called the human papillomavirus

2) HPV is passed from person to person by direct or indirect contact

3) Some types (e.g., condyloma acuminta) are transmitted sexually.

What are the symptoms of Warts ?

There are different type of warts these are as follows and along with their symptoms

1) Common wart - rough, gray-brown, dome-shaped growths

2) Plane wart - raised wart with a rough surface that can look a bit like a cauliflower.

3) Filiform wart - round, flat topped, yellowish

4) Genital warts -small, pink, cauliflower-shaped growths on the penis, vulva (the female external sex organs), or around the rectum

Treatment of Warts

Treatment of Warts are as follows:

1) Salicylic acid and duct taping

2) chemicals such as formaldehyde, glutaraldehyde, and podophyllin can be used to remove warts.

3) Cryotherapy and cantharidin

4) Minor surgery

5)Laser surgery
